From the “This can only happen to me” file 🙂

So I’m looking for a new place to live and yesterday I put in an application at an apartment complex. They email me today and tell me they can’t rent to me because they can’t confirm my employment, so I call them immediately to find out what the hell is going on. I tell them I put my employer, my employer’s phone # and my salary down on the application, so I’m confused why they can’t verify my employment.

They tell me that they think I’m unemployed because I put down “HasOffers” in the employer field, as in “I has job offers”. I start cracking up and tell them “No, HasOffers is the name of my employer!

It was like something out of a Seinfeld episode or maybe even a lost Abbot & Costello routine. The good news is that we cleared up the confusion and I’ve been approved for the apartment. As an English major though I’m completely offended that they thought I would use incorrect grammar on an application! 😉
