From an amusing recount of a childhood road trip that seems it could truly be the inspiration for National Lampoon's Vacation to touching reflections on his daughter's battle with cancer. Somehow, in spite of what seems a very fate driven life, this man is not only surviving, but thriving. Todd and his family are an inspiration and living testimony to the power of the human spirit." -- hand-head-man

iStik Coupons & Coupon Codes - AlexsCoupons.com

iStik Coupons & Coupon Codes - AlexsCoupons.com

Got an exclusive 25% off coupon for a new iPod accessory for fitness buffs - the iStik (http://tinyurl.com/5b8ukg). I ordered their black wrap dress and it arrived just a few short days later on a hanger with a clear plastic bag covering it for protection. I immediately went in and tried it on and it was like dropping an instant 20 pounds! I don't think I've ever had a dress look and feel so good on! Even Todd, who usually doesn't have much input on clothes had to comment on how good it looked. Kiyonna sizes their clothes 0 to 5 with no X added - oh to see a 0 and no X! It really does something for your self esteem! As if all this wasn't enough - ALL of their clothing is made in the USA! Try and find that anywhere these days! I'm telling you, if you haven't bought anything from Kiyonna yet, you don't know how fabulous clothes can make you look! And we all know, if we look great, we feel even better! -- Andrea Martini

About Kiyonna

Shop plus size clothing for women in sizes 10-32. Together they film the dark and scary as well as the “silly, fun, real and practical” sides of living with cancer. You’ll cry and you’ll laugh out loud as these brave women learn how to salvage their dignity, spirit, style, and sense of humor when the “hospital ball” turns their lives inside out.

Webroot Coupons

Subscribe to RSS headline updates from:
Powered by FeedBurner

About Webroot

Download anti-spyware software to detect and remove harmful adware and spyware from your computer.

Vital Choice Coupons

Vital Choice is the premier source of sustainably produced wild Alaska Salmon, wild Pacific Seafood, and fine Organic, Natural, and Kosher foods. One of my contacts sent me an evaluation version of the SlingBox Classic last week and after taking a whopping 30 minutes to set it up, I can now watch television on my phone (which is a pocket PC phone), my notebook computer and the kid's Macintosh. I can even access the programs on my DVR (digital video recorder) through the SlingBox. Nick is sick this weekend with a cold, so he's up in his room right now watching Disney Channel on the Mac. Sometimes technology is just so cool! 8-)

Sling Media's first product, the Slingbox™, has literally transformed the way we are able to watch TV. The Slingbox turns any Internet-connected PC, Mac, or mobile device into your home television. That means you can watch TV virtually anywhere in the world.

Sling Media's innovative software, SlingPlayer™, is a software application that connects users to their Slingbox and allows remote control of the video source device. This is available for additional computers and devices, including Macintosh-based systems. The SlingPlayer applications are fully compatible with Slingboxes sold today.

Quick Update on Alex - 9/29/07

Alex started HGH (Human Growth Hormone) shots yesterday! All of the CT scans came back negative for tumors, but her growth has definitely been stunted by the steroids and radiation she received during her transplants. Went to the hospital yesterday with Andrea and we both learned how to give the shots, which are really easy to give. I've got the kids this week, so I got the honor of giving her the first shot. 8-)

Hope everyone is doing great. There's been a lot going on and not much of it good. It appears that Alex has a tumor in her Pituitary Gland, which has resulted in her developing Cushing's Syndrome. She had an MRI a couple of weeks ago, but so far they've been unable to find the tumor. Her endocrinologist is still certain that one is there though. She's on a cruise with her Mom right now, but when she gets back she'll have another MRI. The good news is that Pituitary Gland tumors are almost always benign, but as you can imagine I won't relax until we know that for sure! ;-)

Other than possible tumors, divorce settlements (Andrea and I are divorcing) and some business/financial setbacks, I'm still keeping my head above water. I can only hope that someday my life gets a lot more boring! ;-)

-- Todd

50 Ways to Save - Kiplinger.com April 2007

Got a nice surprise earlier this week when a friend of mine told me Alex's Coupons was featured in the April issue of Kiplinger's Personal Finance. Alex was diagnosed with Leukemia in November 1998 at the age of 10 months and underwent life saving Cord Blood Transplants in 1999 and 2003. Now that Alex has completed treatment, the Martinis have instituted a charitable donation program using some of the proceeds from Alex’s Coupons.

"Alex’s Coupons has grown from a small site providing a little bit of extra income to one of the most successful coupon sites on the Internet" said co-founder Todd Martini. "The success of Alex’s Coupons has obviously far exceeded our expectations and has enabled us to realize a dream of ours, giving back to the charities who supported us during Alex’s treatment." In addition to Alex’s Coupons, the Martinis are very involved in activism and fundraising on behalf of several cancer related charities, including the National Childrens Cancer Society and Corporate Angel Network.

"We are very grateful that the Martinis are able to help us brighten the lives of other seriously ill children in Washington State," said Michelle Worden, board president. "The Martini family is a wonderful example that childhood illness can be lightened for each member through Starlight's innovative programs. We are honored that the Martini family, including their two children (Alex 9 and Nick 4), attended Oscar Night 2007 in Seattle and contributed so generously."

About Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation

Starlight*Starbright (http://www.slsb.org) Children’s Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to brightening the lives of seriously ill children and their families. Starlight Starbright touches the lives of more than 180,000 children each month with programs to empower children and families to take charge of their illness, play a more active role in their treatment, and better cope with the challenges that accompany prolonged illness.

About Alex’s Coupons

Alex’s Coupons offers the latest deals and coupons to consumers, while raising awareness of Childhood Cancer and raising money for Cancer related charities. We especially loved how the guy hits the gas coming off the pole and then slides down the hill backwards. Definitely not a rocket scientist! Thankfully nobody got seriously hurt.

Anyway we were inspired to put together our own video after watching the clip. The music is Reel Big Fish and yes that is a Slingshot Flying Monkey at the beginning of the video! Review Alex's Coupons in your blog and I'll link to your review on the Alex's Coupons Media Relations page, which has a Google Page Rank of 5. The review must be at least 200 words long and you have to include a link to the Alex's Coupons home page. Of course you're free to link to any other page(s) on Alex's Coupons.

You are to be completely honest in your review. It doesn't matter what categories your blog covers, but it does have to be in English (so I can read the review) and cannot contain any offensive language or images, as Alex's Coupons is a family site.

Once the review is done, send me an email with the URL to your review. You can find more great Musician's Friend deals at Alex's Coupons.)

Of course seeing this sale reminded me of my all time favorite drinking song written back in 1992 by my friend Gavin, who was inspired by one of my favorites phrases from my drinking days (I'm drunk as a monkey!):

DRUNK AS A MONKEY
by Gavin Stewart

I've had more than a few tonight
maybe more than a man should ever have
and you're looking quite good right now
I think I'll tell you exactly how I feel

chorus:
I'm drunk, drunk as a monkey
right down to my simian soul
I'm drunk, drunk as a monkey
want you to be the first to know

don't know how I became like this
right now darwin is rolling in his grave
don't know who put me on rewind
de-evolution is just a state of mind

I won't remember too much of this
I won't remember the words I spoke at you
but I'll span ages in one night's time
and wake up human and then I won't feel fine

One of these days I'll have to post a recording of the song that Gavin made for me recently. It is truly a masterpiece of drunken songwriting.

Technorati Tags:

Musician's Friend Coupons

Musicians Friend Coupons

Musicians Friend

Musician's Friend

iFrogz Coupons - All I Want for Christmas is an iFrogz (Part 2)

15% off purchase coupon using coupon code alexscoupons

I have it on good authority that my iFrogz case has been ordered!

Okay I'll come clean, I ordered it myself! I had already uploaded the custom photo for the wheel cover, so Andrea told me to order it myself and of course I agreed to do it (for her of course!). I paid extra for the custom photo for the wheel cover, but by using the exclusive 15% off purchase coupon at Alex's Coupons, I was able to get the price down to $34 (including shipping). Of course now that I ordered one the rest of the family wants one too, so it looks like I'm going to be busy over the next few days creating more iFrogz designs. So instead I'm going to keep this short and to the point. This was Nick on the day he was born 4 years ago - Friday the 13th of December 2002. He was 1 pound, 9 ounces and 13 inches long:

...and this is Nick today:

My kid is a miracle...

-- Todd

P.S.
